This is a no oil, no sugar recipe It is high in protein

Ingredients

1½
cup black chana( brown chick peas)
·
2
medium sliced onion
·
1
roughly chopped tomato
·
2
chopped green chili
·
2
tsp ginger-garlic paste
·
1½
tsp salt (as required to taste)
·
1
pinch of asafeotida (hing)
For topping
·
1finely
chopped medium onion
·
1
finely chopped tomato
·
1
tbsp finely chopped coriander( dhania)
·
1
lemon (sliced)
·
2
tsp chaat masala
Method
1. Soak the chickpeas (kala chana) in
enough water in a deep bowl overnight, Next day, Drain it.
2. In a pressure cooker take 1 ½ cup soaked
chickpeas. Make sure to soak 1 ½ cup chickpeas overnight.
3. Add sliced onion, roughly chopped
tomato, ginger-garlic paste, chopped green chili, hinge and salt and add 3 cup
of water.
4. Mix well.
5. then let it cook covered for 5-6
whistle on medium heat or until chana is cooked well.
6. Removed lid. Mix and cook till is
fairy dry. Keep aside.
7. Chaat is ready to Serve!
· How to make kala chana chaat with step by step photo:
1.
Firstly in a pressure cooker take 1 ½ cup soaked kala chana. make sure to
soak 1 cup black chickpea overnight. Drain off the water and keep aside.

Add 2
medium sliced onion, 1 roughly chopped tomato, 2 piece chopped green chili, 2
tsp ginger-garlic paste, 1 pinch of asafoetida, 1 ½tsp salt and 3 cup water .
3.
Add 3
cup of water and mix well.
4. Covered the lid and keeping the flame on low, pressure
cook for 8 whistles or until chana is cooked well.
Removed the lid, mix and cook till is fairy dry, keep aside.

transfer the
spiced kala chana to a bowl.

finally, oil
free kala chana chat or black
chickpea chaat is ready to serve.
Ø tips
·
Firstly, make sure to soak chana well else it will not cook.
·
Additionally, adding curd gives the sourness to chaat.
·
adjust spices to your taste. Skip green chili and red powder to
make it non spicy, especially for kids.
·
Instead of black chickpeas, you can use white chickpeas (kabuli
chana) or green chickpeas.
